So, basically.
Gabriel and Scarlett are going to have a 'connection'. He's brother stuck between Lucifer and Micheal, and she's the sister stuck between Lucifer and Micheal's vessels.
When they meet properly at the Elysian Fields Hotel, she realizes that he's on their side - but doesn't want to murder his brother. She offers to become his vessel while he talks to his brother, knowing he could help them. When he asks why, she says because Lucifer won't kill her - because she's his back up to Lucifer.
When she becomes his vessel, Gabriel attempts to talk sense into Lucifer - and flees when Lucifer attempts to kill him. Meeting Sam and Dean outside, quickly the Angel transfers back into Gabriel's original body.
Scarlett collapses, Gabriel offers to take her to Bobby's - for safety.
Maybe there will be something between them, maybe there won't be. I'm not sure yet.
